Our Services
Prayers
The Brentwood Mosque is open every day of the year for people to use our prayer facilities, including all five daily prayers, and the special prayers for Ramadan and Eid. The prayer halls are accessible 15 minutes before Salat time and closes immediately after Salat. The main prayer hall is also open for Jumuah, Ramadan and Eid.
Congregational prayers
We hold congregational prayers at specific times, which you can find in our prayer timetable. These prayers typically take 10–15 minutes.
During weekdays, we open the small prayer hall 15 minutes before the time set for the congregational prayer, and close again immediately after the prayer finishes.
On Fridays, the special Jumuah prayer (replacing the Zuhr prayer) is preceded by a sermon (khutbah), which takes about half an hour. From late March to late October (in the days of British Summer Time) the sermon starts at about 1:30pm; for the rest of the year it is about 12:30pm.
Facilities
For daily prayers, men and women prays in the small prayer hall separated by a partition.
For busy prayers, such as Jumuah, and Tarawih in Ramadan, we open up many other parts of the building, men pray in the ground floor main hall, and women on the second floor.
All areas are served by ablutions facilities.
Islamic Education
We offer Saturday Madrassah for children between the ages of 5-17 from 8am till Zuhr Prayer
Islamic Marriage
Many couples wish to have authentic Islamic recognition of their marriage, in addition to their civil marriage. The Brentwood Mosque can provide this simple service, where the bride and groom make their commitment to an Islamic marriage through their freely given consent, and the groom gives to the bride a dowry.
